In 2015-2016, Synchro Stars established their first intermediate level team. The intermediate team practices once a week on Sundays mornings for 2.5 hours on ice with 1 hour of off ice on at Sullivan Arena at St. Anselm’s College. This year’s team were comprised of skaters ages 14 to 17 who have passed pre-juvenile moves to senior moves. The skaters are from Southern NH, and North Massachusetts. The intermediate team earned a Bronze medal at the Connecticut Synchro Classic and a Pewter Medal at Terry Connors. The intermediate team is coached by Kelley Dugan and assisted by Kat Howland.
2015-16 Open Juvenile
The Open Juvenile team has skaters age 12 to 17 who have passed at least the pre-preliminary moves in the field test. The team practices once a week at St. Anselm’s College on Sunday mornings for 1.5 hours on the ice with 1 hour off ice. The team competes at 4-5 competitions per season including the Eastern Synchronized Skating Championship. They also participate in 1-2 exhibitions. The Open Juvenile team is coached by Kim Koschek and Andrea Manseau.
The Preliminary Team is a new division for Synchro Stars in the 2015-16 season. Skaters on this team are 11 and under with the majority of skaters 9 and under as of July 1st. All of the skaters on this team have had at least one year of synchronized skating experience. The Preliminary team had a successful first season by earning the Pewter Medal at the Eastern Synchronized Skating Championships at Richmond, Va. The Preliminary team practices once a week with 1 hour 10 minutes on ice and 1 hour of off ice practice at Cyclones Arena on Sunday evenings. The Preliminary team is coached by Kelley Dugan and Carola Mandeville.
2015-16 Basic Skills 2
Our Basic Skills 2 Team consists of skaters ages 7 to 12 years old with the majority of skaters 11 and under. Skaters on the Basic Skills 2 team have passed at least Basic 8 level and are starting to work on their free skate levels. The Basic Skills 2 team competes in 3-4 competitions during our season including one overnight trip. They also participate in 1-2 exhibitions throughout the season. This team practices once a week on Sunday evenings at Cyclones Arena for 1 hour on the ice and 30 minutes off ice. The Basic Skills 2 Team is coached by Carola Mandeville and assisted by Priscilla Wilson.
2015-16 Basic Skills 1
Our Basic Skills 1 team consists of skaters ages 6 to 10 years old with the majority of the skaters 9 and under. Skaters on our Basic Skills 1 team have passed at least the Basic Skills 3 level up to the free skate levels. The Basic Skills 1 team competes in 3-4 competitions during our season. They also participate in 1-2 exhibitions through out the season. This team practices once a week on Sundays for 50 minutes on ice and 30 minutes off ice. The Basic Skills 1 team is coached by Angela Greeley and Kat Howland.
