Our Coaches

Deborah LaLone Merson

Deborah LaLone has been figure skating since age 4. She is Gold tested in Freestyle, Moves in the Field, Ice Dance, and Canadian gold tested in Ice dance and Artistic Freestyle.  Deb competed freestyle, ice dance, as well as synchronized skating, finishing her competitive career as a Haydenette under the leadership of Saga Krantz. She also was a professional show skater in Japan.  Deb has been coaching individual skaters in Massachusetts at Hayden Figure Skating Club for the past 20 years. 

Deb has been coaching Synchro Stars since 2021 and coaches our Pre-Juvenile and Intermediate Teams.

Diana Nightingale

Diana Nightingale brings her artistic flare to our organization. She started skating at 5. She have competitive experience in singles, synchronized skating, theater on ice, solo ice dance and showcase. She has competed both nationally and internationally in multiple of those disciplines. She is still an active competitor with SCOB’s TOI and currently coaching one on one at Hayden FSC.

Diana has been part of Synchro Stars coaching since 2025 with our Adult Synchro team. She will be also part of our aspire program in 2026-2027.


Debbie Moffitt

Debbie Moffitt has been figure skating since age 8 when her hockey obsessed father first brought her to an ice rink in Warwick, RI. She started synchro when it was called “precision” and skated Juvenile-Junior with Warwick Figure Skating Teams and Junior on Shoreline of Cape Cod. After finishing college and starting a career in education, she joined Esprit De Corps Adult and Masters and coached Mini Crystals/Team Excel (Beginner-Open Juvenile levels). When not working as a behavior analyst, Debbie can be found teaching at Hayden Figure Skating Club.

Debbie has been coaching Synchro Stars since 2023 and coaches our Open Adult Team.
